Making Bible Figure Outfits - Part 2: Women

Here are the instructions to make the outfits shown here. You can use any Barbie-type doll.

ROBE

Cut out 2 fabric pieces 10.5”x 7"

Neaten the edges by hemming all round.

Put wrong sides together and sew shoulders together, leaving gap of 2 - 2.5" {depending on size of doll} in the centre for the head. (fig 5)Sew a few stitches in the centre of the head opening to keep it in place. (fig 5)

Sew sides, leaving 2.5" gap from shoulder for arms. (fig 6) To neaten armhole, tuck under and secure with a few stitches.

Check height of doll and hem the bottom.

You can make a belt by crocheting 50 chain loops, or use a shoelace or cord.

VEIL

Cut fabric piece of fabric 10”x 5”.

Hem long edges.

Fold over lengthwise.

Make diagonal seam from top to bottom, starting 1.75” from front. (fig 7)

Cut excess fabric (fig 8)

Hem bottom of veil.

To keep in place, sew to hair with a few stitches.
